The Dominican American Cultural Institute welcomes the visit of U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken

Santo Domingo, D.N. (September 6, 2024). As part of his visit to the Dominican Republic, the Dominican American Cultural Institute had the honor of hosting U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken. He had the opportunity to interact with a group of students enrolled in the institution’s English Immersion Program from MESCYT. The event took place at the Lincoln Library and was attended by Vice President Raquel Peña and Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Franklin García Fermín, who were welcomed by Mrs. Lucy Threan de Lamarche, Vice President of the ICDA Board of Directors. During the meeting, Blinken learned from the students themselves how learning English contributes to their personal and professional development. They shared their stories and experiences of learning English and how this program has impacted their lives. This dynamic was led by the ICDA academic team.
We are deeply honored to have hosted this memorable meeting, which reaffirms the Dominican American Cultural Institute’s commitment to transforming lives through English language learning and contributing to the bond between the Dominican Republic and the United States.
