At an emotional event, the Chargé d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in the Dominican Republic, Patricia Aguilera, formally introduced a group of talented artists and their impactful works as part of the cultural project ‘Histories that Unite Us: Let the Liberty Bell Ring.’

The event, held in an atmosphere of celebration and reflection, brought together various artists and notable personalities. During the presentation, it was explored how art becomes a powerful medium to promote unity, freedom, and democratic values essential for the development and strengthening of society.

The Little Cougars Learn About Oral Health During Health and Safety Week

As part of Health and Safety Week, our little Cougars from Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten participated in a fun-filled educational experience. Dr. Priscila Peralta delivered an interactive talk to teach the children the importance of keeping their teeth healthy.

Through games and engaging activities, Dr. Peralta explained in a simple and entertaining way how to brush their teeth correctly, the importance of flossing, and how to avoid excessive consumption of sweets that can harm their smiles. Additionally, the children learned about the importance of visiting the dentist regularly to maintain good oral health.

Health and Safety Week continues to be a key opportunity for students of all ages to acquire vital knowledge that promotes their overall well-being. Thank you, Dr. Priscila, for sharing your expertise and helping our little Cougars smile with confidence and health!

The Dominican American Cultural Institute welcomes the visit of U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken

Santo Domingo, D.N. (September 6, 2024). As part of his visit to the Dominican Republic, the Dominican American Cultural Institute had the honor of hosting U.S. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken. He had the opportunity to interact with a group of students enrolled in the institution’s English Immersion Program from MESCYT. The event took place at the Lincoln Library and was attended by Vice President Raquel Peña and Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Franklin García Fermín, who were welcomed by Mrs. Lucy Threan de Lamarche, Vice President of the ICDA Board of Directors. During the meeting, Blinken learned from the students themselves how learning English contributes to their personal and professional development. They shared their stories and experiences of learning English and how this program has impacted their lives. This dynamic was led by the ICDA academic team.

We are deeply honored to have hosted this memorable meeting, which reaffirms the Dominican American Cultural Institute’s commitment to transforming lives through English language learning and contributing to the bond between the Dominican Republic and the United States.

Dominico Americano Preschool Celebrates Kindergarten Graduation!

In an emotional and significant event, Dominico Americano Preschool’s Kindergarten celebrated its graduation ceremony, marking an important milestone in the educational development of the young students. Families, teachers, and school staff gathered to congratulate the graduates on their achievement and celebrate their transition to new academic horizons.

The event, filled with joy and emotions, took place in the colorfully decorated Patrick N. Hughson auditorium, reflecting the energy and vitality of the children. The young graduates wore their gowns and mortarboards with radiant smiles as they received their diplomas, demonstrating everything they had learned and grown during their time in preschool.

During the ceremony, the effort and dedication of the teachers and school staff in guiding and supporting the students throughout the school year were highlighted, preparing them not only academically but also emotionally for this important transition.
