Our long-awaited Field Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm, bringing together students, families, and staff for an event full of energy, excitement, and teamwork. This annual tradition not only promotes physical activity but also strengthens the bonds among members of our educational community.

From the early hours of the morning, the campus was filled with colors, cheers, and smiles. The Fire Cougars and the Thunder Cougars gave their all in every race, game, and activity, showing a strong spirit of unity and healthy competition.

Parents, teachers, and students actively participated, cheering on their teams and celebrating every achievement together. Beyond the competition, the true value of the day lay in the shared joy, camaraderie, and lasting memories created.

Field Day is a unique opportunity to step out of the classroom, challenge oneself, applaud others, and live experiences that positively shape school life.

Every smile, every step, every cheer was part of an unforgettable experience.

A Celebration Filled with Love: Mother’s Day at Our Preschool

This Mother’s Day was truly special at our early childhood level. The children from Toddler, Nursery, Pre-Kinder, and Kinder came together to offer a morning full of affection, surprises, and emotions, dedicated to the most important women in their lives.

With heartfelt performances, sincere hugs, handmade gifts, and countless smiles, our little ones expressed all the love and gratitude they feel for their mothers. Every gesture and every glance reflected the deep and unique bond they share with those who are their first home.

We are grateful to all the mothers who joined us and, with their presence, made it possible to share such meaningful and memorable moments. This celebration reminds us of the value of tenderness, dedication, and the unconditional love that defines motherhood.

The little ones shone at Spring Fest 2025 with Lila the Butterfly

Tenderness and joy took over the stage during the Preschool Spring Fest 2025, with the delightful performance of Lila the Butterfly. Our preschool students starred in a show full of color, music, and fantasy, celebrating the arrival of spring through dances that radiated excitement and sweetness.

Each choreography was a display of the enthusiasm, imagination, and dedication with which the children prepared for this big day. Laughter, applause, and the proud looks from the audience made this event a truly special experience.

It was a memorable day to highlight the natural talent of our little ones, who reminded us with their spontaneity and joy of the power of celebrating the seasons with art and heart.

Our students enthusiastically celebrated Easter, a day that invites us to reflect on fundamental values such as hope, renewal, and life. This celebration became a special opportunity to share, connect, and strengthen the bonds that unite us as an educational community.

From the early hours, students participated in a day full of color and energy. Recreational activities and games were organized to promote teamwork, creativity, and healthy interaction. Each space was thoughtfully decorated to provide a joyful and meaningful experience, making every moment unforgettable.

Beyond the fun, the day held a profound educational significance. Through various activities, students not only enjoyed pleasant moments with their peers but also reflected on the meaning of Easter and its message of personal and collective renewal.

We extend our gratitude to all the teachers and staff involved for their dedication and effort in planning this activity, as well as to the students for their enthusiasm and active participation. Domínico Americano School celebrates Spirit Week with different themes

Spirit Week was celebrated with great enthusiasm, filling the halls with creativity, energy, and community spirit. For five days, our students and teachers participated in a series of themed activities that celebrated camaraderie, institutional identity, and, of course, fun.

The week began with the much-anticipated Crazy Hair Day, a day when the wildest, most creative, and original hairstyles took over the school. From impossible buns to vibrant colors, our students unleashed their imagination.

The second day was full of adrenaline with Sports Day, which included an impressive judo demonstration by an athlete from the National Federation. Additionally, the youngest kindergarteners showed their bravery by climbing the rock wall, overcoming fears and reaching new heights—a clear display of teamwork and sportsmanship.

On the third day, we celebrated Matching Day, where friends and entire groups coordinated to wear matching outfits. Creativity shone once again, and the school atmosphere was filled with color and unity.

We continued with Character Day, a day when everyone transformed into their favorite characters. From superheroes to figures from cinema and literature, it was a day to celebrate individuality and the creative expression of each student, reaffirming that we all have a unique and special character.

Finally, we ended the week on a high note with Cougars Day, a celebration filled with institutional pride. Students and teachers wore their Cougars T-shirts and demonstrated what it means to be part of this community.

Dominico Americano Preschool celebrates St. Patrick’s Day

Our preschoolers enjoyed a day filled with magic, smiles, and plenty of fun as they immersed themselves in the rich Irish culture. Throughout the day, the children learned about Ireland’s traditions, its music, its colors, and, of course, the famous three-leaf clover that symbolizes this special day.

The activities were varied and highly creative. The children crafted green decorations, from clovers to leprechauns, all while embracing the festive spirit of St. Patrick’s Day. Every corner of the school was filled with smiles, laughter, and a joyful atmosphere.

Additionally, they had the chance to enjoy traditional games and popular Irish songs, which created a lively and cheerful environment throughout the day. Excitement was in the air, and the children were thrilled with everything they learned about this well-known global celebration.

It was a day full of joy, magic, and learning, where our little ones not only had fun but also got to know a bit more about the traditions of other cultures. Without a doubt, it was a day to remember fondly.

The Dominican-American Cultural Institute names its Student Plaza in honor of Mrs. Engracia Franjul de Abate

The Dominican-American Cultural Institute (ICDA) held a heartfelt event to name the institution’s Student Plaza in honor of Mrs. Engracia Franjul de Abate, recognizing her invaluable dedication, work, love for education, and commitment to the institution over the course of 38 years.

The event was led by Mrs. Darys Estrella, President of the ICDA Board of Directors, who delivered the welcome speech. In her address, she highlighted Mrs. Engracia Franjul de Abate’s career, emphasizing her commitment to education and tireless work in empowering underprivileged communities. “Her legacy is a testament to a life dedicated to service, education, and social transformation,” Estrella expressed.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished individuals, including members of the ICDA Board of Directors, family and friends of Mrs. Engracia Franjul de Abate, as well as collaborators and members of the educational community.

As part of the tribute, Mrs. Elizabeth de Windt, who served as Executive Director of the Dominican-American Cultural Institute from 1991 to 2013, presented a portrait of Mrs. Engracia Franjul de Abate. Later, the commemorative plaque was unveiled, officially designating the ICDA Student Plaza with her name.

Mr. Frank Abate, representing the family, gave an emotional speech of gratitude, highlighting his mother’s love and commitment to education and the community.

The ceremony concluded with an invitation for attendees to enjoy an exhibition featuring Salvador and Engracia de Abate’s pictographic collection in the institution’s Exhibition Hall.

Through this designation, the Dominican-American Cultural Institute pays eternal tribute to a visionary and exemplary woman whose impact will continue to inspire future generations of students and professionals.
